Why I love to write and review!

Cleaning out some old files, I found these notes (not sure of the source) - please take what works!

You’ll never rise above the opinion you have of yourself.

Never forget the power of a kind word.

Choice, not conditions determine your destiny.

You have three choices, give up, give in or give it everything you’ve got.

Your past doesn’t equal your future.

You’re unstoppable if you work on the things others can’t take away from you - mindset/character.

Don’t write To Do lists, write To Be lists!

⁃ who do you want to be?

⁃ Can you be that?

⁃ Do me! Be me! Stay me!

Timeless Principles:

1. No Silver Bullets

⁃ high performers work hard. Elite performers work harder

⁃ Make discipline your super power

⁃ You don’t get what you wish for, you get what you work for

2. Culture Eats Strategy For Breakfast

⁃ side by side beats above and below

⁃ We, not me

⁃ There is no rank when it comes to standards!!!

3. Be Where Your Feet Are⁃ all of me in every moment.

4. Be At Your Best When Your Best Is Needed

⁃ You don’t always need to be at 100%

⁃ If you go into a fair fight, you haven’t prepared properly.

Magic 4 for Culture in order of importance

1. Belonging

2. Environment

3. Values

4. Vision

How Do We Get Better?

What is your role?

Where are you today?

Where do you want to be?

Set a big GAP… aspire for something great and bridge the GAP.

⁃ Adversity will come. Everyone has doubts - they are both equal opportunity employers!

⁃ Push through the CRAP (criticism, rejection, arseholes and prejudice) and KEEP MOVING… don’t get stuck. That’s all that matters.

⁃ Embrace the challenge and lean in

Anxiety comes from something in the past or something in the future… never in the present. Shorten your focus when anxiety hits. Focus on taking bite sized chunks.

Who do you need in your photo?

Current state

⁃ What/Who

⁃ What/Who

⁃ What/Who

Future state

People need 3 things for a High Performing Culture.

⁃ a leader worth following

⁃ Work worth doing

⁃ Culture worth contributing to

Rather than asking whether you can trust people, ask whether they can trust you. Can they trust you to help them and get them to where they need to be.

WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, ITS YOU AGAINST YOU!!!
