Confidence!

How do you build yours?

  • Self-talk - we all do it and frequently it’s less than helpful!

  • We all have our inner critic and our inner champion. However which one is usually dominant in your head?

  • We all have a river of self-doubt flowing through us. When everything is going our way, it is just a trickle and it’s easy to navigate!

  • However, when things are not going our way, suddenly it’s flowing faster, it is way deeper and so much wider!

  • So the question is, how do we get across it? On the other side is #futureyou - you are moving in the direction of your goals, aspirations and dreams, not constrained by your self-doubt, fears and lack of self-confidence.

  • Here are my top 7 tips to slow the flow and build your bridge of self-belief and confidence:

  • 7 steps to build your confidence: 1. Invest in positive relationships and create a winning circle. Surround yourself with people who BELIEVE IN YOU! People who want to see you succeed and be happy! Push the negs away as they are not serving or helping you in any way! 2. Invest in you - your greatest asset. Self-development develops knowledge, and confidence and fuels a growth/opportunity mindset. How much have you invested in YOU since the beginning of the year? 3. Improve your self-talk and confidence by journalling  3 simple daily activities: affirmations,  things you are happy & grateful for and your ‘be amazing’ list - a list of things you are proud of big and small. To help you: go to the Rocking Chair Test landing page for my first-ever list of affirmations:

5. Invest in your self-care to own your space: movement, meditation, journalling and the basics of sleep, hydration and nutrition. It is very hard to feel confident when the basics are not in a good place!

6. Reflect each evening on your learns AND your wins, however small. What are the best 2/3 things you have done today? Repeat this daily.

7. Focus on the gain instead of the gap. Instead of giving yourself a hard time on how far away from your goal you are, congratulate yourself on the gains you have made from when/where you started. Self-praise and moments of celebration fuel your motivation and desire to keep going.
